Course Curriculum

Student at work in the shop The complete eight week full-time Ritop training program is broken down into three parts: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
 

1) Basic Electronics

Classroom study sessions to teach the necessary basic electronics needed to excel in the automotive electronics field.

2) Basic Installation

Car audio and related installations in basic form. Working in actual vehicles gaining the knowledge and experience necessary to succeed.

3) Tool Familiarization and Usage

Hand tools, electric tools and pneumatic tools. Hands-on training with hundreds of tools and their various uses.

4) Basic Fabrication Techniques

Hands-on training with woodworking, upholstery and painting. Basic techniques and their applications in the installation field.

5) Product and Industry Familiarization

Classroom structured talk sessions designed to install a level of competence and understanding of the industry, where it came from, where it is and where it is going.


1) Basic Electronics, continued

To meet the needs and level of the individuals involved, basic electronics classes continue throughout the program.

2) System Architecture

Multi amp system installation, sound imaging and fine tuning the students ears.

3) Box Building

Hands on training with sealed, ported and exotic designs. Choosing, planning and construction.

4) Intermediate Fabrication Techniques

Hands on training in carpeting, woodworking, vinyl upholstery and fiberglass fabrication, many techniques and their application in the installation field.

5) Security and Navigation Basics

Training in the classroom as well as installation in actual vehicles.


1) Basic and Intermediate Electronics

Review and preparation for the MECP installers test. Guest speakers from various manufacturers.

2) Intermediate Alarm Installation

Door locks, windows, auto start and blue tooth interface. Classroom training as well as installation in actual vehicles.

3) Show Cars

The Ritop training may include working on show quality vehicles for manufacturers and selected individuals.

4) IASCA Rules and Regulations

All areas of concern including RTA, installation and sound quality.

5) MECP Installer's Certification Test

MECPAll Ritop students take the MECP Certification Test.
