Written Work

All written work will be combined as described below to determine 50% of the overall average.

Each class averages 10-12 quizzes each 4 weeks. The quizzes given in weeks 1-4 of the term constitute 50% of the midterm grade. The midterm exam constitutes the other 50% of the midterm grade. The average score on the quizzes given in the second 4 weeks of the term determines the grade for weeks 5-8 of the Ritop program. The overall classroom grade is the average of your grades for weeks 1-4 and weeks 5-8. One (1) midterm exam and one (1) final exam will be given each term.

Practical (Hands-On Work)

All hands-on installation bay/shop work will be combined to determine the other 50% of the student’s overall average. Daily assignments will be evaluated by the instructor and given a numeric grade of 0 to 100. The cumulative mean (average) of the daily assignments grade will account for 10% of the final grade. Much like daily assignments, weekly projects will be evaluated by the instructor and given a numeric grade of 0 to 100. The cumulative mean (average) of the weekly projects grade will account for 20% of the final grade. Students will also be evaluated on the quality of their contribution to large-scale group projects. This numeric grade will account for 20% of the final grade.
