The Ritop School The Ritop School for Mobile Electronics
Your Path to a Future in the
Mobile Electronics Industry

Student at work in the vinyl shopAddressing mobile electronics retailers’ growing need for professional installers, the Ritop School was founded in 1985 to educate and prepare installers for a career in an exciting, fast-growing industry. Since its inception, the school has become the leading mobile electronics training facility in North America, graduating over 150 installers each year from its Watertown, MA location.

Nearly 20 years later, our mission remains the same. Our courses offer a strong foundation for installers and enthusiasts alike as they enter or grow in this fast-paced industry. Our classroom instruction provides students with the fundamentals of electrical and acoustical theory, while our hands-on shop projects teach custom fabrication and advanced installation skills on real vehicles. In fact, we dedicate 50% of our students’ instruction time to real-world installs in our full-service bays.

The Ritop advantages include: woodworking, paint, fiberglass and vinyl shops on premises, extensive hands-on installation and fabrication instruction, MECP preparation and testing built into coursework, VA benefits approved, nationwide job placement assistance and sales training.

Rich Inferrera's Tuning Workshop

Richard Inferrera's Tuning WorkshopRichard Inferrera known as “The Godfather of Car Audio” shared his 35 years of experience with the students at the school. Our students attended a hands-on workshop in “How to Tune a System” as part of the curriculum at the Ritop School. There is no one better to teach this than the “godfather” himself. Gathering around his award-winning Mustang, Richard explained to the class that because there is limited space in a car, it’s important to keep in mind how critical the placement of the speakers are to ensure quality sound for all the passengers. The class enjoyed the presentation and left with some real-world useable information that will serve them in their careers in the mobile electronics field. More Information

Installer Challenge 2004

The Ritop School will again sponsor the trophies at this year’s Installer Challenge Competition hosted by Select Products in conjunction with MECP at the International Consumer Electronics Show held January 8 -11, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two teams of MECP certified installers, one from the United States and the other from Canada, compete in this grueling 48-hour event. The competition is based on sound quality, and custom installation, and will be judged by IASCA-certified judges. The Ritop School for Mobile Electronics, in our pursuit to acknowledge continuing education, recognizes the high level of achievement that an installer has risen to in order to be selected to participate in the challenge.

This will be the second year that the school will be involved with the challenge. Future installers can aspire to learn as much as possible so they too can look at the possibility of being invited to the next face-off. The Ritop School salutes the Installer Challenge teams and the level of expertise that they have achieved.
