School Open House/Information Sessions
April 26, 2003 and June 28, 2003

Since its inception, the Ritop School has become the leading mobile electronics training facility in North America, graduating over 125 installers each year from its Watertown, MA location. Nearly 20 years later, our mission remains the same. Our courses offer a strong foundation for installers and enthusiasts alike as they enter or grow in this fast-paced industry. Our classroom instruction provides students with the fundamentals of electrical and acoustical theory, while our hands-on shop projects teach custom fabrication and advanced installation skills on real vehicles. In fact, we dedicate 50% of our students’ instruction time to real-world installs in our full-service bays. To further enhance the students’ classroom experience, we offer a complete selection of hand tools, power tools and special-purpose tools, as well as dedicated woodworking, paint, fiberglass and vinyl shops where students can build custom enclosures, interior trim, and dash pieces. Other advantages of the Ritop School include its experienced staff, a curriculum that encompasses the entire automotive electronics industry, the opportunity to earn a nationally-recognized MECP certification on-site, and career development skills training for interviewing and resume writing. Students also have access to a full library of video training tapes, technical manuals and computer programs that they will likely encounter in the real world. To further enhance the learning experience, manufacturer representatives, technical advisors and product engineers frequently serve as guest instructors.

The Ritop School is geared towards newcomers to the industry, and no prior work experience is necessary. We welcome students who have a strong desire to learn and become efficient at high-quality installation and fabrication. By the end of our eight week course, students are ready to begin their careers, and our job placement program will even help them find work – anywhere in the country.

To learn more about the Ritop School, you are cordially invited to attend an open house/information session on Saturday April 26, 2003 or Saturday June 28, 2003 at 1:00 PM. Please RSVP to 888-44-RITOP. If you cannot attend and need more information, an individual appointment can be scheduled.

Installer Challenge

The Ritop School sponsored the trophies at this year’s Installer Challenge Competition hosted by Select Products in conjunction with MECP at the International Consumer Electronics Show held January 9 -12, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two teams of MECP certified installers competed in this grueling 48-hour event. The competition is based on sound quality, and custom installation, and was judged by IASCA-certified judges. In our pursuit to acknowledge continuing education, the Ritop School recognized the high level of proficiency an installer needs to in order to be selected to participate in the challenge. At the end of the challenge, trophies were presented to all contestants. It takes a well trained installer to be invited to the challenge,  installers should aspire to learn as much as possible so they too can strive to be invited to the next face-off. The Ritop School salutes the Installer Challenge teams and the level of expertise that they have achieved.
