Addressing
mobile electronics retailers’ growing need for professional installers,
the Ritop School was founded in
1985 to educate and prepare installers for a career in an exciting,
fast-growing industry. Since its inception, the school has become the
leading mobile electronics training facility in North America, graduating
over 150 installers each year from its Watertown, MA location.
Nearly 20 years later, our mission remains the same. Our courses
offer a strong foundation for installers and enthusiasts alike as they
enter or grow in this fast-paced industry. Our classroom instruction
provides students with the fundamentals of electrical and acoustical
theory, while our hands-on shop projects teach custom fabrication and
advanced installation skills on real vehicles. In fact, we dedicate 50% of
our students’ instruction time to real-world installs in our full-service
bays.
The Ritop advantages include: woodworking, paint, fiberglass and vinyl shops on premises,
extensive hands-on installation and fabrication instruction, MECP preparation and testing built into coursework, VA benefits approved,
nationwide job placement assistance and sales training.

Audiovox visits the Ritop School
for Mobile Electronics
On June 8, 2004 representatives from Audiovox arrived at the
Ritop School for a demonstration of their company’s new and exciting line of
mobile electronics products. Representing Audiovox was: Steve Christmann,
Product Manager Vehicle Security, Paul Platt, Branch Manager Eastern District,
Harry Schneff, Regional Sales Manager, and Dave West, owner of New England
Marketing Group.
For two and a half hours the students of the school's June
semester were provided with a detailed presentation and demonstration of the
Audiovox line of audio, video and security components. As each of the members
finished their presentation, the students got a chance to ask questions
related to such topics as the ease of installation and performance.
The relationship between the Ritop School and Audiovox first
blossomed at the Installers Challenge at CES in Las Vegas, 2004. Patrick
Lavelle, President of Audiovox, met with school director and
expressed an interest in sponsoring the Ritop School and conducting training
seminars because of the critical role that education plays within the mobile
electronics industry.
At the Ritop School we encourage companies to support us through donations, training or both. Manufacturer support gives our
students first hand experience with state-of-the-art equipment that they will
install during their careers as well as invaluable general knowledge about the
products.
The Ritop School wishes to thank Audiovox for their generous
contributions and the representatives for a wonderful, informative
presentation.
